Upon Entering

I shall die in my boots.
Kick open the saloon doors
of heaven or hell,
lasso the darkest hombre
and shoot any hat in the house
who doesn’t buy me a drink.

I thought I was going to die in my boots last night or at least sleep in them. I borrowed cowboy boots from Kelsey to go to a western party and had such trouble getting them on and even worse taking them off.

Thank you for posting my poem on your site and giving me a by-line, and for copying it
exactly as it was first published.
The image of the tree on your site, is fun and whimsical.
